Harvey Abrahams, Co-founder
Harvey Abrahams brings more than 20 years of experience in a wide range of trading, strategy, hedging and portfolio management roles within the energy markets. As a founding member of Natsource, LLC, he was an early pioneer in the global carbon emission markets and was involved in the management of a $300 million dollar fund which originated, created, traded, and invested in carbon reduction projects and carbon emission credits. He led a team which executed transactions worth over $1 billion of capital across many types of emission reduction projects. His extensive global expertise includes investing in projects in China, Brazil, Chile, Korea, Ukraine and the United States. He ran the Natural Gas Basis and Swap Brokerage Desks at Natsource’s U.S. Electricity Business as well as managed Natsource – Tullet Europe, Ltd in London, an energy and emissions brokerage and advisory business. Prior to joining Natsource, Harvey brokered natural gas swaps, options and forwards for Eurobrokers and Beresford Capital Management. Harvey earned his B.A. in Economics from Queens College.
David Kandolha, CPA, JD, Co-founder
David Kandolha brings over 20 years of experience in the energy sector in a wide range of trading, strategy, hedging and portfolio management roles. As a founder of Natsource, LLC with Harvey Abrahams, he was an early pioneer in the global carbon emission markets and managed a $300 million dollar fund which originated, created, traded, and invested in carbon reduction projects and carbon emission credits. At Natsource, LLC, he held principal responsibility in the formation and management of businesses in New York, London and Oslo. He also managed Natsource’s European analysis and Scandinavian electricity brokerage business, which were sold to Point Carbon in May 2005. He also brings experience as a broker of natural gas swaps and options at Euro Brokers Capital Markets, Inc. Prior to Natsource, he held previous positions as a natural gas transportation analyst at Metallgesellschaft, and auditor of energy companies with Arthur Andersen. He earned a JD from South Texas College of Law, a certificate in International Studies from Texas A&M University, and a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the New York Bar.
Travis Windholz, CFA®, MBA, Director
Travis Windholz brings over 10 years of experience analyzing, underwriting, investing and managing exposures in various sectors of the energy markets. He is responsible for managing Akeida’s renewable energy portfolio, including origination, structuring, due diligence, legal documentation, funding and post-closing deal monitoring. He has successfully closed approximately $500 million in senior-debt, bond offering, mezzanine debt and equity transactions within construction, oilfield service, and engineering and renewable energy sectors. Prior to Akeida, he was an associate and vice president at Mills Stowell/Fairway Capital, a boutique investment bank and mezzanine fund, where he led the onsite deal team for the firm’s largest transaction, and was co-lead on all of investments during his tenure. He was also a specialist at El Paso Corporation where he worked within the Global Power, Global LNG, and Trading and Valuation groups. Travis earned an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BBA in Finance with Honors from Texas A&M University. He is a CFA Charter holder.
Marisa has been a part of the Akeida team since the firm began accepting capital in April 2008. She is responsible for business development and marketing and also serves as a first point of contact for Akeida’s investor base. Through her extensive industry network, Marisa originates investment opportunities, manages Akeida’s deal pipeline and screens project opportunities to ensure they meet Akeida’s investment mandate. Marisa has worked in the environmental finance sector since she graduated from Columbia University in 2006 with a B.A. in Urban Studies. From 2006-2008, Marisa was a broker at Evolution Markets where she worked on the California Emission Markets desk brokering NOx, SOx, PM10 and VOC to clients in the industrial and energy sectors.
